I want to welcome all parents
and family members of Lee Elementary.
My name is Leo Mendoza and I have been teaching Physical Education for 18 years. I received my Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Texas at El Paso in 1996. I believe that all people should exercise everyday and that they should have fun while being active. This experience begins during early childhood and this is where I come in. I am here to help our students develop a love for physical activity which will hopefully last their whole life time.
My physical education program is designed to help kids be active but to have fun at the same time. We play a variety of games and activities which the students will be able to continue to use for the rest of their lives even if they do not go on to play major sports in middle and high school. I also teach my students to be disciplined in their behavior and in following the rules of the games, activities, and sports that we participate in.
I encourage all parents to play with their children as much as possible to help foster a healthy and active lifestyle for the whole family. I am always happy to answer any questions that you may have about my program or your child in particular. My conference hours are Monday-Friday, 10:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.
